I thoroughly enjoyed this romance novel but before I write the review I want to introduce myself. I am a teacher and have been camped out in young adult novels for years so in no way am I an experienced romance novel reviewer. However, that said, this is how I judge a good novel. You know when you are reading a book and just not thrilled about it; i.e. you are not sucked into the story line..............well that did not happen with this novel. I was immediately lost in the story and it began with the enticing preface that had you reading to see the outcome. I truly loved the action Ms. Cassel weaved throughout the romance - it was very unexpected. I am glad to hear she is working on the sequel.The only negative comment I have is based on the fact that I lead a very sheltered life in books. I have been reading a lot of classic literature and young adult novels so the intensity of the romance and some of the language in the book took me aback. However, that is my limitation, and not one placed on this genre or its author. Just a heads up from a PG reader that this novel is definitely PG-13.

If you have not read this book, then I'm begging you....yes, begging you....to add it to your bookshelf. Then, bump it up to the top of that to-be-read shelf that accumulates so much dust. Dust if off, pick it up, and lose yourself in this alluring story! You won't regret it!
Tailspin! That's exactly what I found myself in from the first sentence, not the first page, the very first sentence in this book! Wendi Cassel has delivered a brilliant tale of desire, betrayal, healing, and commitment to the pages, unlike any other I've read. There are so many times while reading this book that I found myself holding my breath one minute and squeeing with delight the next.
Hailey is a character with whom I can easily connect and identify. She has struggled with the pain of loss, fought for her place in this unfair universe which is life, and she constantly analyzes each situation with what ifs. We've all had them, I'm sure. What if I had done this differently? What if this happens? This is simply Hailey, and she relies on her head instead of her heart. But, when she meets Andrew, everything changes. Hailey has never needed anybody for anything, but she was surprised to discover she needed Andrew.
Andrew Grayson is the debonaire aristocrat who is now my new book boyfriend (we all know I love a British hero). He reminds me of so many of my book boyfriends in the past, yet he isn't like those boyfriends. He is able to stand alone in this category of highness I tend to place my literary heroes. You will know the ones I'm talking about Christian, Gabriel, Edward, Gideon, and Bones. Andrew has the world at his feet, yet he is caught in a web of lies, deceit, and betrayal at the hands of his own family. Andrew also suffers from the disease of What ifs, but Andrew's what ifs were so special, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much.
This is not a love at first sight story, although there is an attraction or fascination at first sight. The pacing of the romance that blossoms between Andrew and Hailey is perfectly paced. But, this story isn't just about a romance between Andrew and Hailey. It is so much more! There are betrayals on so many levels. Family secrets that have been hidden for years are uncovered....so many family secrets! Torment of one family became commonplace. Yet, there is healing in so many different ways. The chapter headings alone seem to tell a story of their own, and they are so fitting.
Okay, so what did this book do for me? It made me cry...and squee...and swoon...and scream OMG along with a few expletives. My heart was torn out at one point, but stitched together and put back in my body the next moment. My breath was taken away, but I was recusitated only to be transformed. Have you ever experienced that feeling that something really bad is coming, but you don't know what it is? <=== THAT is where I was many times in the book...in full blown anxiety! I was shaking all over and my heart was pounding out of my chest in not one, but a few scenes. At another point in the story, I was actually fist pumping the air and laughing out loud with happiness. I don't know how to describe it, except to say that this book made me FEEL! I actually could FEEL everything! I was so invested in the characters and the story surrounding them, I didn't want the book to end, but it did. There is no cliffhanger ending, yet there is so much room for a sequel (which I'm happy to report there will be one). No, this book actually came full circle, giving me something that has been lacking in my reading lately. I really wish there were 10 or more stars I could give this book, but keeping within my review policy, I will only give it 5 stars and my highest recommendation and stamp of approval. What you can expect is the tallest roller coaster ride that will have you wearing one of those motion sickness bracelets, while you experience the best anti-aging therapy as your face gets a workout of major proportions from all the emotions that will cross it. What you get is a scintillating piece of literature that will keep you awake into the night for the simple fact that you will not detach yourself from this book; you and this story will become One. My highest praise to Wendi Cassel, because she told me a story.
Absolutely loved this book! Could not put it down! Well written and an easy read. I recommend it to all who will listen! Waiting for the sequel!! Bravo!
Wow this book really kept my attention! The style of writing brought the book to life.
Look forward to reading the next installment. Read it over Thanksgiving holidays and really enjoyed the business background as well as the characters.

I liked "When you don't have a choice" much more than I thought I would. I had it on TBR pile for a while before I finally started reading. This always gives me a happy feeling. Like finding money in clothing you haven't worn in a while, it's like - "ooh I did not know I had this". The book has a lovely cover too so who knows what was wrong with me. My long convoluted ways of saying don't be the dullard I was and read it as soon as you buy the book and if you haven't' bought it yet give it a chance.
