A Good Wife Tales of Indian Women eBook Ami Dalal
Dalal has pulled back the veil on the stereotypical Indian marriage, revealing a darker side to the oft cited paradigm. You feel for and empathize with the characters, who become the victims of circumstances beyond their control. Plot twists keep this book entertaining, though the nature of the short story prevents the full exploration of the outcomes of their decisions. A great debut by a talented young writer willing to step into the gray zone of cultural attitudes towards women, gender roles, marriage and family, and the undocumented immigrant experience.Product details

A Good Wife Tales of Indian Women eBook Ami Dalal Reviews
Couldn't put it down. Sad, elegant, and raw, all at the same time. Ami has a masterful way with words, and it made me wishing / wanting more stories! Hoping there's more where this came from!
Simply amazing! I finished the entire book in less than an hour. Felt like I was in the room with all the characters the entire time! It really connected me to each character wondering what will happen to them. I hope there is a sequel!
I loved the author's writing style and elegant diction. Although the book is written in third person, the atypical structure she used to convey dialogue made me feel as if I were living each character's life. And each of their lives are captured in rich detail, from their emotions to the physical world they were in. I found myself drawn into the world, and the pace of the book would not let me go. She deals with heavy subject matter in a very honest manner and with much humanity. I look forward to more the writer's work!
